We will remind, at a ceremony in the Kremlin on September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an attempt to

annex the

Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions based on the results of fake referendums held by the occupiers in these regions.

After President Putin signed the documents on the accession of the occupied territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, a number of countries

expressed their condemnation of this decision and their disagreement.

In particular, the USA introduced sanctions against top Russian officials.

The UN Security Council met to respond to Russia's illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories, but the Russian Federation promised a UN Security Council resolution condemning the annexation.

Because of the annexation attempt, Ukraine

appealed to the International Court of Justice in The Hague

Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the world should

recognize Russia as a terrorist state

because of its attempts to annex the territory of Ukraine.

On Monday, October 3, the State Duma of the Russian Federation "ratified" the illegal attempt to annex four regions of Ukraine.
