Following the addition of 11 centenarians last year, the North District of Tainan City added 11 centenarians this year. District Mayor Li Huangxing visited and presented the Double Ninth Ceremony.

[Reporter Wang Shuxiu/Tainan Report] There were 30 centenarians in the North District of Tainan City. Li Huangxing, the head of the North District, and local residents came to the house to congratulate the centenarians on the eve of the Double Ninth Festival on behalf of Mayor Huang Weizhe. The plaque, and on behalf of the President's Office, the gift of respect for the elderly and the golden lock film of the Ministry of Health and Welfare were sent to congratulate Rui Songling and his longevity and prosperous age.

According to statistics from the Social Affairs Bureau, as of August this year, Tainan had more than 328,000 elderly people over the age of 65, accounting for more than 17.7% of the city's population.

Among them, 312 are over 100 years old (94 males and 218 females), 126 are just over 100 years old, and 186 are over 100 years old, an increase of 25 people compared with last year, and the growth rate is as high as 8.7%.

Li Huangxing said that there are 22,594 elderly people over the age of 65 in the northern district this year, of which 11 elders have just turned 100 this year, bringing the total number of 100-year-old elders in the northern district to 30. Overall, the average life expectancy in the district is increasing, and each elder has his own longevity life experience and becomes a model for future generations to learn.

Mr. Pang Daowu, who just turned 100 this year, lives in the North District with his wife and most of his children live in the North. His family hires foreign caregivers to take care of the elderly. His grandson living in Tainan will take turns to visit every week. He is very healthy, communicates fluently with people, is kind and generous on weekdays, and helps the disadvantaged.
