The Russian gas company

"Gazprom"

threatened to cut off gas supplies to Moldova on October 20.  

This is stated in the statements of the companies. 

Thus, "Gazprom" demands from Moldova to pay for the gas that Russia supplies to the unrecognized Transnistria.

"Gazprom" reserves all its rights, including the right to completely stop the supply in case of violation of the obligation to pay for gas until October 20, 2022, as well as the right to terminate the contract at any time due to a gross violation of the terms of the conclusion of the agreement regarding the settlement of the historical debt of JSC "Moldovagaz", the statement of the Russian monopolist states.

The Moldovan state energy company Energocom received a gas trading license from the Romanian National Energy Regulatory Agency.

Energocom can now buy and sell gas on the Romanian market.

Moldova has also chosen seven companies that will supply it with gas if Gazprom stops supplying it.

Energocom has access to gas storage facilities in Ukraine.

At the end of September, the company purchased 15 million cubic meters of gas in two batches.

He will be sent to the PCH in Ukraine.

It will store gas in case of supply interruptions.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Andrii Spinu stated that the state enterprise Moldelectrica signed an agreement with Transelectrica Romania for the emergency supply of electricity in case of need.

According to him, these steps increase the level of energy security of the country.
