[Reporter Lin Liangsheng/Taipei Report] The Kuomintang Miaoli County Mayor Xu Yaochang publicly appeared in support of Miaoli County Speaker Zhong Dongjin, who was expelled by the Kuomintang to run for the county election. Shi said that this behavior is unacceptable if it is not reported to the county and city party department for approval, but no relevant cases have been seen so far.

Zhong Dongjin was expelled from the Kuomintang because of his candidacy for Miaoli county magistrate. Zhong held a rally last night. Although Xu Yaochang was a member of the Kuomintang Central Election Team, he still showed up to support Zhong and said that if he brought his team to support the nomination of the Kuomintang Xie Fuhong, a candidate for Miaoli County mayor, "Miaoli County will be over."

Regarding Xu Yaochang's support for non-KMT candidates, the Kuomintang said yesterday that Xie Fuhong was a candidate nominated by the party. He is a true man and can stand the test. No matter how the election battle changes, he will continue to work hard in accordance with the existing pace. With the support of the public, we will fight for a better life for the villagers in Miaoli.

However, the Kuomintang has not responded to Xu Yaochang's possible violation of party discipline.

Li Guimin said in an interview today that he has not received the relevant notification, but if there is a situation described in the report, unless it is reported to the county and city party department for approval, it is not allowed.

Li Guimin said that if there is a need for party discipline punishment, the normal process is to send it from the local party department to the central party department. After the central discipline examination meeting, depending on the situation, if the party membership is revoked or expelled from the party, it needs to go through the regular meeting.

Li Guimin pointed out that even if the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection learns of the relevant matter, it will not deal with it directly. The letter of the meeting asks the local party department to deal with it before sending it to the central authority; so far, there has been no case related to Xu Yaochang.
