The Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan welcomed the wife of the President of Ukraine Olena Zelenska in Istanbul, reported the Turkish private television NTV, quoted by BTA.

During their meeting, Zelenska told the Turkish first lady about the latest events in Ukraine, as well as about the activities of the foundation that bears her name.

She handed Emine Erdogan a letter of thanks from her husband Volodymyr Zelensky for the support given to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian first lady has expressed her satisfaction with Turkey's reception of 1,300 Ukrainian children without families and has asked for help in evacuating and bringing to Turkey about 200 children with special needs.

Zelenska also highlighted the contribution of the Turkish president to the provision of a sea corridor for the export of Ukrainian grain and the prevention of a global food crisis.

"I am happy to have welcomed in Istanbul the wife of the Ukrainian head of state, my dear friend Mrs. Olena Zelenska. I believe that together we will heal the wounds of the Ukrainian people, especially the women and children who are victims of the war. Turkey will continue the diplomatic his struggle to establish peace in every sphere, as he has done since the beginning," wrote Recep Tayyip Erdogan's wife on Twitter.
