Due to protests in Iran, classes at the country's leading university have been suspended.

APA reports that Sharif University, Iran's leading technology university in Tehran, was suspended and transferred to an online format after clashes between students and security forces overnight.

"Sharif University of Technology announces that due to recent events and due to the need to protect students, all classes will be held online from Monday," the University administration said.

It should be noted that on October 2, about 200 students gathered at the university and shouted slogans against the religious regime of Iran.

Slogans such as "Woman, life, freedom" and "Students prefer death to humiliation" were chanted.

It should be recalled that protests began in the country following the beating death of 22-year-old Masih Amin after she was arrested by the morality police for allegedly violating the dress code for women in the country, and the demonstrations have already entered their third week.

Dozens of protesters were killed and more than a thousand were arrested during the wave of protests.
