Swedish biologist Pabo won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Biomedicine.

[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] The winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was announced today (3rd), by Svante Pääbo, a biologist and an authority on evolutionary genetics from Sweden. In addition to the medals and certificates, the winners will also receive a bonus of 10 million Swedish kronor (about NT$28.7 million).

Nobel's official Twitter pointed out that Pabo was awarded for his discovery of the "extinct ancient human genome", including the Neanderthal, for his significant contribution to the study of human evolution.
