The election day in the Kardzhali region ended without problems, announced the chairman of the Regional Election Commission - Pavel Gatev.

65,109 voters, or 24.82 percent of those who have this right, voted, he added. 

The highest percentage is in the municipality of Chernoochene, where the activity exceeded 35 percent, and the lowest in the municipality of Kardzhali – 22 percent.

As for the number of voters, the municipality of the same name has the largest number - 22,421 voters.

According to CEC data from the previous parliamentary elections, the number of people who voted on November 14, 2021 for people's representatives in the Kardzhali region was 67,192, or 25.65 percent voter turnout.

Throughout the day, not a single complaint or report of violations was submitted to the RIC.

In front of the theater building in Kardzhali, where the election papers will be accepted, the mobile sections from Chernoochene and Kardzhali were the first to hand in their protocols.

Right to vote in the 9th MIR – Kardzhali, there were 262,278 voters.

They voted in 542 sections, 41 of which were mobile.

Voters chose from among 134 candidates for deputies in the five-mandate constituency.

In 344 sections they made their choice with a machine and in 198 - with a paper ballot. 

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 500 employees of the structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the district were involved in the protection of the polling stations and the order in the settlements.

In the "Bulgarian identity documents" sector and the passport units in the regional offices, 21 voting certificates were issued today.

The employees of the ODMVR and other structures of the Ministry of the Interior in the district continue their security work until the delivery of the election materials to the RIC.
