Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who serves on the US Senate Intelligence Committee, said he was concerned about the unpredictability of Russian President Putin, who could resort to desperate measures after a series of defeats by his army against the Armed Forces.

He spoke about this on Sunday, October 2, in the CNN "State of the Union" program.

"If he decides, for example, that arming NATO, arming Europe and arming the US for Ukraine will not only cause him to lose the war, but also undermine his grip on power ... it is possible that he may end up striking some from these distribution points through which these supplies arrive, including inside Poland," the senator said.

According to him, the possibility of an attack on the territory of a NATO country, for example, on some airport in Poland, causes him more excitement than the possibility of a nuclear attack, which many are talking about.

At the same time, Rubio emphasized that he could not imagine a scenario in which Putin would win the war against Ukraine.

The American senator believes that the Russian army now has two options for the following actions: try to hold the territory that has already been captured, which could last for years, or continue to retreat.

It will be recalled that the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, praised the Armed Forces for the successful use of HIMARS MLRS, which destroy Russian headquarters and warehouses with ammunition.
