The Ukrainian authorities have taken all steps to submit an application for accession to

NATO

under the accelerated procedure and are now waiting for a response from the member states of the Alliance.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the President's Office, reported that 10 bloc countries supported Ukraine's membership in the Alliance.

"Within 48 hours of signing the application for joining NATO, 10 countries of the bloc supported Ukraine's membership in the Alliance. Most of them are countries that well remember the poisonous claws of the Russian empire. We thank the allies for demonstrating leadership and responsibility. History is being made today," he wrote. he's on Twitter.

It will be recalled that on September 30, Ukraine submitted an application

to join NATO 

in an accelerated manner, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said following the results of the NSDC meeting.

While the Ukrainian side will wait for approval from all members of the Alliance, it proposes to implement proposals regarding security guarantees for Ukraine in accordance with the Kyiv Security Treaty.   

After that, Stoltenberg said that Ukraine's accession to NATO depends on the consent of all allies.      

"Every democratic country has the right to apply for membership. We respect this right. We say again that NATO remains open and we show it. NATO allies met in Madrid and then a clear statement was made that we support Ukraine's right to choose its own path and to decide which defense alliances to join," he added.
