In villages near the recently liberated Kupyansk in

, local residents hid collaborators in their basements.  

This was told by one of the personnel soldiers, who has been with volunteers on the eastern front of the Kharkiv direction since the first days, reports the press service of the National Guard of Ukraine.

"When we checked the territory, we identified them and handed them over to the relevant authorities," he said.

The defense forces of Ukraine pushed the enemy from the western outskirts of Kupyansk by about 6 kilometers, but the enemy is still shelling the industrial zone of the city from the forest.

"The enemy continues to fire at populated areas of the region with cluster munitions and S-300 missiles. According to the locals, civilian houses and infrastructure are the most affected," the National Guardsmen say.
