In September, researcher and diver Eric Petkovich found the wreckage of the submarine U-111 65 km from the coast.

This is reported by National Geographic.

Previously, it was believed that the submarine U-111, which was sunk by the US Navy in 1922, was at a depth of about 500 meters, but a diver found it at a depth of 120 meters.

It was the last of the sunken German submarines, whose whereabouts remained unknown.

This submarine was previously thought to be too deep to be tracked.

Earlier it became known that

an American warship was discovered in the Philippine Sea, which sank at a record depth of 6,895 meters.
