The election day in the Montana region is taking place in a calm environment and without incidents so far, announced the spokesperson of the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs-Montana Irene Tokina, BTA reported.

378 policemen, firefighters, gendarmerie and border policemen are engaged to guard the polling stations.

Law enforcement officers make sure that people carrying weapons or dangerous objects, as well as people who are clearly intoxicated, do not enter the polling stations.

"From 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today, the offices for issuing personal documents at the police stations in the region are working. They will issue voting certificates to citizens who have lost or damaged their documents," Tokina specified.
