Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that exercise has brought a positive change in his life.

Visiting 22 places of worship in four hours can be a huge order even for the most ardent pandal hopper.

Now imagine that someone is doing this even at the age of 65.

We are talking about Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Speaking at the 'NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth Bharat Ke 12 Hour Telethon Lakshya Total Health Ka', the Union Minister emphasized the importance of individual health.

He shared the details of his personal health journey and also spoke about the importance of waste management.

Gadkari said, "From 8 pm to 12 pm, I visited 22 places of worship yesterday. Earlier I used to feel tired, but there was no tiredness or exhaustion last night."

He said that pranayama, exercise and his daily diet have made this possible.

Describing his fitness, he said, "I suffered Covid twice. During that time, my doctor instructed me to do some exercise and since then I have been doing Pranayama for an hour every day, followed by exercise . It helped strengthen my immunity and boost my energy level."

He said that exercise has brought a positive change in his life and advised others to do some exercise daily.

He said, "My doctor suggested some exercises. Once I started doing them, others I knew also started following them and it helped them too. Videos of these exercises are available on YouTube." are readily available."

Responding to a question by actor Amitabh Bachchan, the brand ambassador of the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India initiative, how he managed to lose weight, Gadkari highlighted the importance of organic farming and consumption of organic vegetables.

He said, "From 135 kg, I am now 90 kg. Even from the first 40 minutes of speech, he used to feel tired and he used to sweat profusely. Now, even though I speak non-stop for three hours, I feel some tiredness. Doesn't happen."

One area where he said he still needed to do some work is to make sure he finished his dinner by seven or eight.

Gadkari said, "I am often out for work at night and this does not give me food on time. So, this is one area where I still need to catch something."

However, he added that he always made sure to have his breakfast and lunch on time and that in turn helped eliminate the need for any medication.

When NDTV's Prannoy Roy asked him about the importance of ensuring zero-waste, which Gadkari's ministry has been doing with great success over the years, the Union minister spoke about the importance of green hydrogen, solar energy and waste segregation. Thrown light on.
