On September 30, Ukraine submitted Ukraine's application for NATO membership.

On October 1, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jenson Stoltenberg and discussed with him further steps regarding Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.

The Ukrainian diplomat wrote about this on his Twitter page.

"I had a conversation with the Secretary General of NATO, during which I informed him in detail about Ukraine's application for membership. We agreed to maintain contact on this matter and discussed further practical steps of NATO to support Ukraine in countering Russian aggression," said Kuleba's post.

As a result of the conversation, the politicians agreed to maintain contact regarding Ukraine's application for accession.

We will remind you that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that on September 30, Ukraine 

submitted an application

 to join NATO under the accelerated procedure.

On the same day, the NATO Secretary General held a press conference where he said that the doors of the Alliance remain open to any democratic country.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, said that as soon as Ukraine wins the war, there will be no obstacles to joining NATO.
