The IAEA appealed to the Russian authorities with a request to provide an explanation in connection with reports of the

detention of the director general.

This is reported by Reuters.

"We have contacted the Russian authorities and are asking for clarification," the publication quotes the representative of the IAEA.

By the way, Murashov was kidnapped yesterday around 16:00 on the road from the nuclear plant to Energodar.

The occupiers stopped his car, and the director of the NPP was forcibly detained and blindfolded and taken to an unknown direction.

Currently, there is no information about Igor Murashov's whereabouts.

As reported,

the IAEA will send radiation safety equipment to Ukraine.

This will help five Ukrainian institutions, in particular the State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation and Energoatom, to get equipment for radiation monitoring, mobile phones, portable energy systems and other necessary items.
