The sociologist referred to the data of the study, which was conducted by telephone survey in September 2022 (before the offensive of the Ukrainian army in the Kharkiv region).

"Compared to March and May, the numbers have practically not changed," the expert drew attention.

He called it evidence of "maintaining mental, albeit silent, refusal to participate in the military actions of Belarus."

At the same time, 51.4% of respondents expressed a negative attitude towards the Russian Federation using Belarusian territory and military infrastructure to achieve military goals in Ukraine - the number of people with this position decreased compared to March.

At the same time, the number of those who could not answer the relevant question increased (up to 17.7%).

"This is an important social fact," said Vardomatsky.

"The position consists of a factor of fear and disorientation."

The sociologist drew attention to the fact that Belarusians are influenced not by the war, but by the "white and fluffy media construct they receive."

Separately, the researchers found out how Belarusians feel about the fact that the current government allowed the deployment of Russian troops in Belarus.

42.5% of respondents rated it positively, 38.9% negatively.

"The main positions were formed back in March 2022," said the head of the Belarusian Analytical Workshop.

- The numbers are kept at the same level.

I warned that the attitude towards Russia will not change."

The sociologist also noted the lack of dynamics in the attitude of Belarusians to Russia's actions in Ukraine: 47.3% approve of them, 41.3% disapprove.

At the same time, 33.9% of respondents sympathize with Ukraine, 32% with Russia, and 16.2% with both sides.

According to the research, 57.7% of Belarusians are informed about what is happening in Ukraine.

For comparison: in May this number was 74.2%, in March - 79.3%.

The sociologist called the decline of interest in the events in Ukraine one of the "most sad" processes.

"The Kremlin would like the attention to the war to decrease.

If this happens, then, accordingly, the pressure on Western politicians will decrease," Vardomatsky stated.
