was not re-elected to the governing board of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) because of its aggression against Ukraine. 

This was announced on Twitter by the organization.

The top ten most important countries for world aviation include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the USA and Great Britain.

The second ten were Argentina, Austria, Egypt, Iceland, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain and Venezuela

As Reuters reports, Russia did not get enough votes to remain part of the ICAO governing council, which includes 36 states.

Such a decision was one of the gestures of Western countries, which want Russia to bear responsibility for the invasion of Ukraine.

"The vote holds Russia accountable for violations of Ukraine's sovereign airspace, such as bombing airports, which contradicts a key 1944 agreement that establishes the basic principles of global aviation," Ukraine's ambassador to Canada, Yulia Kovaliv, said in a statement to the agency.
