The US has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia.

APA reports that the US Finance Ministry has released information about this.

It was reported that the new sanctions apply to Russia's defense and technology sector, as well as to high-level Russian officials.

White House officials said the Treasury Department will impose sanctions and export controls on any company, entity or individual that provides political or economic support for Russia's illegal annexation.

The Finance Ministry is also imposing sanctions on 14 international companies for supporting Russian military supply chains.

The head of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina and the first deputy head of the bank Olga Skorobogatova, as well as relatives of the members of the National Security Council, are sanctioned.

State Department imposes visa restrictions on more than 900 Russian officials.

The Ministry of Finance adds 57 institutions to the list of organizations whose commercial operations are restricted.
