The Supreme Court has reprimanded those who raised questions on EVMs.

New Delhi:

The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition questioning the reliability of EVA machines.

Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. Reprimanding the Madhya Pradesh Jan Vikas Party, the bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that the party which has failed to get recognition by the voters is clearly a party. Trying to get recognition by filing a petition.

Court is not a place where anyone can walk and take publicity.

The Supreme Court dismissed the petition, which sought a direction to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take effective measures to plug the loopholes in EVMs.

What else the Supreme Court said

- the election process is monitored by the Election Commission for decades

- this issue is being raised from time to time.

It appears that the party which has not been recognized by the voters is trying to get recognition through such petitions.

What arguments did the counsel for the petitioners give

- only the engineers of the company have access to it.

- If there is a problem with the EVM, it is the engineers of the company who deal with it, not the engineers of the commission.

This should not be allowed, as there is a possibility of tampering with it.

- We only need a few checks and balances.

We are not against the use of EVMs in elections.
