[Reporter Zheng Weiqi/Taipei Report] The 41st International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Congress is being held in Montreal, Canada. In order to demonstrate Taiwan's determination to participate in ICAO, the Civil Aviation Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperated with Taiwan and Canada during the Congress. A series of activities to speak out to the international community on the need for ICAO to include Taiwan.

The triennial ICAO Congress will be held in Montreal from September 27th. Although Taiwan was not invited, the "ICAO Action Group" led by Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Administration Lin Junliang left for Montreal on September 24th to announce to the world. my country's determination and necessity to join ICAO.

Echoing the theme of the conference "Reconnecting the World", Taiwan also took "Reconnecting the World, Reconnecting Taiwan & ICAO" as its action appeal.

The Civil Aviation Administration stated that before the conference, under the arrangement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 26, Civil Aviation Director Lin Guoxian received a group of 19 political and economic journalists from 17 countries at Songshan Airport. The press group then visited Songshan Airport. The on-site understanding of Songshan's operations, facilities and services, as well as the development status of my country's air transport and the achievements of air traffic control services, demonstrates the appeal and importance of Taiwan's meaningful participation in ICAO.

After the action team arrived in Montreal on the same day, Lin Junliang and members of the action team held an international press conference together with the representative office of our country in Canada to express Taiwan's determination to participate in ICAO. Civil aviation and diplomatic officials from allied countries such as Ristorford, Nevis, and St. Lucia attended the speech, and many friendly countries, professional international civil aviation organizations and local overseas Chinese leaders in Montreal attended the meeting to express their support for Taiwan's participation in ICAO.

During the ICAO General Assembly, the Action Team continued to hold bilateral talks with relevant friendly countries, friendly countries and many international civil aviation organizations, in addition to conducting substantive exchanges on civil aviation professional and technical issues, and reiterated my country's participation in ICAO.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China pointed out that all the participants of the talks agreed with Taiwan's outstanding performance in the international civil aviation community, and believed that Taiwan's participation in ICAO would be beneficial to the recovery of global aviation, and promised to continue to assist us in contacting relevant ICAO personnel.

Lin Guoxian pointed out that Taiwan is located in an important position connecting Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. During the epidemic, air transportation performed well and made a great contribution to the smooth operation of the global supply chain. Taiwan's participation is very important to ICAO. Taiwan hopes to cooperate with the international civil aviation industry. , to jointly ensure the safe, orderly and sustainable growth of international civil aviation.

Lin Guoxian said that despite being unable to participate in this ICAO conference, Taiwan will still play an active stakeholder role in the most professional and pragmatic way, maintain the highest flight safety standards of the Taipei Flight Information Region, and try its best to comply with ICAO standards and recommended measures to achieve ICAO seamless flight safety network target.
