The government of Kosovo decided at its meeting today to introduce visas for all citizens of Russia who want to enter or use the country for transit in any way, reported the MIA correspondent from Pristina, quoted by BTA.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that Russian citizens with regular, official and diplomatic passports, as well as those who have a biometric residence permit issued by Schengen countries, are required in the future to obtain a Kosovo visa, either for entry, for transit or stay in Kosovo.

Presenting the proposal, which was adopted at today's cabinet meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lisa Gashi emphasized that the proposed measure is in line with the latest European Union decision on visas for Russian citizens.

Citizens of the Russian Federation require a visa upon entry to the Republic of Kosovo - no exceptions.

This proposal by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in line with the international obligations undertaken by Kosovo in accordance with the latest EU decision to cancel the agreement on the facilitation of obtaining Schengen visas for Russian citizens, Gashi said.
