Since the middle of the last century, the world's population has not stopped growing, thanks mostly to countries like China and India.

It is expected that in the coming years, the trend of high population growth will cover Africa as well.

At the same time, however, there are quite a few countries whose population is melting at a rapid pace, especially in Europe.

The UN has made a forecast for the 15 countries in the world that are expected to lose the most serious share of their population in the period 2020-2050.

Unfortunately, this is yet another negative ranking, in which the first place is assigned to Bulgaria.

According to forecasts, our country will experience the most drastic decline in its population in the coming decades.

The decline is expected to be at least 22.5 percent.

By 2040, the population of Bulgaria will melt to 5.6 million people
