The 80-year-old Kharge is considered close and close to the Gandhi family.

He is currently the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Digvijay Singh, Pramod Tiwari, PL Punia, AK Antony, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Salman Khurshid, Avnish Pandey, Rajiv Shukla and Mukul Wasnik are among his proposers.

Many people including Ashok Gehlot, Digvijay Singh, G-23's Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Prithviraj Chavan, Anand Sharma, Deepender Hooda, Kumari Selja, Pawan Bansal and Delhi Pradesh Congress President Anil Chaudhary were present in Madhusudan Mistry's chamber at the time of Kharge's nomination. Were.
