The 16 countries of the "Formosa Club" in Latin America and the Caribbean The 217 members of the Assembly called on ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano to invite Taiwan to attend the 41st ICAO Assembly and participate meaningfully in ICAO conferences and activities by means of joint signatures, letters and tweets. and mechanism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its welcome and sincere thanks for this today (30th). 

In a letter to ICAO from 16 member states of Latin America and the Caribbean, it pointed out that Taiwan is an important air traffic hub connecting Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, and an indispensable part of the global aviation network. However, it has been excluded from ICAO for no reason due to political factors. In addition, comprehensive information on ICAO cannot be obtained in a timely manner.

In addition, the letter also pointed out that China's military exercise in the sea and airspace around Taiwan in August this year has seriously affected international air routes and trade exchanges, and endangered the aviation safety of Taipei and the adjacent flight information region. "Reconnecting the World", and join hands with Taiwan to maintain safer skies. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this year, in addition to Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay and other eight Latin American and Caribbean friendly members of Congress in solidarity with Taiwan, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia And other national parliamentarians also joined the solidarity action.

Belize, Guatemala and St. Lucia unanimously passed the resolution and declared their support.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that Taiwan will work with friendly countries and international partners with similar ideas to continue to share my country's aviation expertise and experience, fulfill the responsibilities and obligations of members of the international community, and promote the safety and good governance of international civil aviation.
