Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council, answered the question about when Ukraine can receive an answer to its application to join NATO under an accelerated procedure.

He said this on the air of TSN during the telethon "Edyny novyny".

In particular, Danilov reminded that in order for a country to agree to join the Alliance, the approval decisions of all 30 of its members are necessary.

"I want you and I to understand that the

Alliance is not only Stoltenberg.

He is currently leading the Alliance, but it is 30 countries and there should be an absolute consensus regarding this decision. I think that the authority today to give such an answer directly to Mr. Stoltenberg is probably not there," said the secretary of the NSDC.

"And let's see how events will unfold.

You and I are patient people

," he added.

Danilov also assured that Ukraine will not stop trying to become a member of NATO, and drew a number of historical parallels.

"When we were not given the MAP in 2008, we did not fold our hands, we moved towards it. When in 2010, Russia actually took over our country through the power of Yanukovych, we did not fold our hands, we moved. When in the 13th year we had refused to move to the European Union, we also started to work, without folding our hands. In the end, we achieved the fact that the norm of joining the European Union and joining NATO is enshrined in our Constitution.

We are working. Fight - you will win

," quoted Taras Shevchenko, Secretary of the NSDC .

It will be recalled that on September 30, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine will submit an application to join NATO under an accelerated procedure.

Commenting on this news, Stoltenberg said that NATO's door remains open to any democratic country.
