The next meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format will take place on October 12 in Brussels.

The US ambassador to NATO, Julian Smith, reported this, writes "Voice of America".

The ambassador refused to name the weapons that Western partners and the United States may transfer to Ukraine as a result of the meeting.

However, Julian Smith emphasized that the US is communicating on this topic with the Ukrainian military and political leadership.

"We have heard these Ukrainian requests loud and clear. We will do our best to accommodate those demands through the contact group. But I think if history has taught us anything, it's that this is just an ongoing, evolving process." , - emphasized Smith.

We will remind, on Thursday, September 8, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, again gathered partners and allies at the Ramstein military base, where they discussed what Ukraine needs and promised long-term support.

Defense Minister of Ukraine Reznikov summed up the results of "Ramstein-5" and announced good news.
