The head of the Ministry of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, explained that

there is a constant danger of an attack from Belarus,

since the Ukrainian-Belarusian cordon reaches 1,200 km, and in February there was already an invasion from there by the Russian army.

The minister said this in a joint comment for hromadske on September 29.

"In some unconfirmed cases in Chernihiv Oblast, the local population heard in the first days of the invasion that soldiers in Russian uniforms spoke with an accent very similar to Belarusian. That is, it is possible that some small units of Belarusians were in Russian uniforms. But then they disappeared. Other such we still do not have evidence of the presence of the Belarusian military," said Reznikov.

Reznikov noted that

the level of propaganda in Belarus is much lower than in the Russian Federation, and therefore "there is less brainwashing."

However, the Minister of Defense believes that, despite the risks, Lukashenko is looking for a balance.

Allegedly, he helps Putin, but does not intervene in a direct conflict.

"Therefore, let's put it this way, there is a risk, but I would not exceed its level. It seems to me that the leader of Belarus is looking for a balance. On the one hand, he needs to demonstrate to his patron (Vladimir Putin - ed.) that he is somehow with him. But on the other hand, Lukashenko understands that this could already be his final final," added Reznikov.

The minister assured that in any case, Ukraine is ready to repel another invasion from Belarus.

We will remind, in Belarus, the railway infrastructure is being prepared for the reception of military echelons from Russia.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin is already planning to transfer up to 20,000 newly mobilized people to Belarus.

According to military expert Oleh Zhdanov, there are up to 4,000 Russian soldiers in Belarus.
