It is unlikely that an engine problem was the cause of the incident with the Su-25 aircraft at Bezmer Air Base.

The opinion was expressed by the journalist from "Krile" magazine Dimitar Stavrev on the air of Nova TV.

"Even if there is a problem with one engine, this is an airplane that can land on one engine.

The probability that both engines failed at the same time is very small, rather it is something with the systems that manage the height and direction of the plane", commented Stavrev.

General Spas Spasov with new details about the accident with a pilot near Bezmer

According to him, Su25 are currently the most modern aircraft in the Bulgarian aviation.

Although they are 35 years old, Stavrev said there are no old and new, there are maintained and unmaintained aircraft.

"They are in perfect condition.

I was delighted with the new opportunities they got after this renovation", said Stavrev.

Few flying hours remain a problem.

"For last year, the most fliers have 25-30 hours," said Stavrev.

Marin Petrov, who is a helicopter flight engineer, explained that there is a maintenance program.

It lists by hours what inspections are carried out.

"Aviation equipment is properly maintained.

I agree with the statement that there are no old and new, there are maintained and unmaintained aircraft," commented Petrov.

And according to him, in "Bezmer" the planes are properly maintained.

"I understood that this is Colonel Donchev's first flight of the year.

In Bulgaria, there is a system where many people who are not at the airbases fly 3-4 hours a year in order to receive flight money", said Stavrev.

According to him, this practice should be stopped.

"They have no real combat value in the event of an armed conflict," Stavrev said.

The Su-25 crash: The black box has been found

"Col.

Donchev is a good pilot, so they allowed him to make a solo flight.

90% of the others just transport them to get this money", said Stavrev.

"The planes that can fly - both the MiG-29 and the Su-25 - can be counted on the fingers.

It is a pity that we are losing a combat attack fighter, the good thing is that the pilot is alive and well", commented Nikolay Kalev.
