On Thursday, September 29, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned Russia that the annexation of Ukrainian regions would jeopardize the prospects of peace in the region.

His statement to journalists was quoted by Reuters.

According to him, if Russia continues to implement its plans to annex four Ukrainian regions, it will mean a "dangerous escalation."

The UN Secretary General also emphasized that such a move by Putin "will continue to have a dramatic impact on the world economy, especially in developing countries, and will hinder our ability to deliver vital aid throughout Ukraine and beyond."

"Any decision on the annexation of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine will have no legal significance and deserves condemnation," Guterres added.

The official announcement by the Kremlin of the annexation of 15% of the territory of Ukraine will be confirmation that Putin intends to continue his war against Ukraine, despite the serious military defeat that the Russian army suffered in September.

We will remind, on September 30 in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to sign documents on the inclusion of the captured territories of Ukraine, where the occupiers held so-called "referendums", into the Russian Federation.
