At the invitation of the head of state Rumen Radev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will pay an official visit to Bulgaria on September 30 and October 1, the presidential press office announced.

During their meeting in Sofia, the two heads of state will review the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and are expected to discuss the development of cooperation in the fields of energy, economy, security, tourism, science, education and culture. 

On September 30, Friday, in front of the temple-monument "St.

Alexander Nevsky", President Ilham Aliyev will be welcomed by Head of State Rumen Radev with an official ceremony, during which the national anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria will be accompanied by 21 cannon artillery salutes in honor of the Azerbaijani President.

Ilham Aliyev will lay a wreath in front of the Monument to the Unknown Warrior.

From 11:30 a.m. at "Dondukov" 2, the two presidents will hold a "four eyes" meeting, after which the plenary talks between the official delegations of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan will take place.

Rumen Radev and Ilham Aliyev will give joint statements to the media at 12:50 in the Coat of Arms Hall of "Dondukov" 2.

On October 1, Saturday, at 11:00 a.m., President Ilham Aliyev will take part in the ceremony of putting the intersystem gas connection Greece-Bulgaria into commercial operation.

The event will be held in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture.

As part of his official visit to the country, President Ilham Aliyev will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Gulab Donev.
