NATO supports the ongoing investigations into the causes of the breaches in the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

This was stated in a statement of the North Atlantic Council, quoted by BTA.

The damage caused to the gas pipeline in the international waters of the Baltic Sea is of deep concern.

All evidence so far indicates that they were due to deliberate and irresponsible acts of sabotage.

The leaks pose hazards to shipping and the environment, the statement noted.

Allies say they are determined to be ready to deter and defend against the use of coercive energy and other hybrid approaches by states and non-state actors.

Any deliberate strike on critical allied infrastructure will receive a united and decisive response, NATO says.
