Ukraine guarantees the Russian military full compliance with the Geneva Conventions on the condition of surrender.

Vitaly Matvienko announced the speaker of the "I want to live" project at a briefing on September 29.

He explained that this project was created specifically for the Russian military, who do not want to follow the criminal orders of the country's leadership and participate in the war against Ukraine.

"After the appeal, a certain procedure will take place, where it will be determined how, in what way and where the Russian soldier will be able to surrender. But I cannot tell you about the procedure itself - how, what and where," - the representative of the Coordination Staff for Issues told reporters treatment of prisoners of war.

Matvienko emphasized that Ukraine guarantees prisoners full compliance with the Geneva Conventions: 

"Of course, with the mobilization in the Russian Federation, the number of calls only increases," noted the speaker of the "I want to live" project.

At the same time, he did not name the exact number of those who had already surrendered to the Armed Forces.

We will remind you that on September 28, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky once again appealed to the mobilized Russians, if they want to live, flee and surrender to the Armed Forces.

Note that, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 100,000 people have already been called up since the announcement of the "partial" mobilization in Russia.
