Monitoring is being carried out to prevent illegal interventions in historical monuments in Baku.

APA reports that this was reported by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.

In accordance with the order of the Minister of Culture Anar Karimov, the institution continues operational monitoring with the aim of preventing and eliminating the consequences of illegal interventions and restoration works on historical monuments located in the capital.

To date, 26 protocols have been written, and a large number of object owners have been warned.

The next monitoring measures covered the historical and architectural monuments located on Azerbaijan Avenue, Yasamal District, Baku, in accordance with the dislocation.

"We want to state once again that, except for the State Service, no other institution has the authority to carry out any repair and restoration works on historical and cultural monuments, to allow advertising and other signs to be placed on them.

Monitoring of historical and architectural monuments will be continued.

All illegal interference will be prevented.

Fines will be applied to the object owners who do not eliminate the defects despite the warnings and they will be referred to the law enforcement agencies.

Once again, we call on our citizens, those who own or lease historical monuments, to take a sensitive approach to the protection of our monuments, as well as the aesthetic appearance of our city, and to fully convey it to future generations," the information said.
