According to the General Staff, Russia can become more active on the battlefield, as well as hit critical infrastructure.

This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Gromov, during a briefing.

"After the pseudo-referendums are held and the enemy builds up its forces, an escalation of the situation is not excluded. This will be characterized by the task of enemy strikes on critical infrastructure with a simultaneous attempt to intensify combat operations with the aim of seizing the entire territory of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine," Gromov noted.

As previously reported, former CIA director David Petraeus believes that there are two reasons why Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was in such a hurry to hold fictitious "referendums" in the occupied Ukrainian territories.
