Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi said at the Future of Food and Farming summit in Paris that it is "difficult to discuss" the chances of extending the agreement that allows Ukraine to conduct maritime trade.

It should be noted that the contract should expire in November.

Politico writes about it.

"You can always discuss these chances with a mentally healthy person. Everything is wrong in this situation. It is very difficult to plan something," said Solsky.

He added that Ukraine is working with the UN and Turkey to extend the agreement, which is vital for the Ukrainian economy and for countries with food insecurity, especially in Africa.

"I think that the extension of the agreement will be a very worrying issue for us until the moment of its signing. We will have an understanding whether it will happen or not closer to the end of the agreement," Solsky said.

He also recalled that despite agreeing to the deal in July, Putin has criticized it in recent weeks, arguing that the vast majority of exported grain goes to rich European countries, not to vulnerable countries that need it most.

Such remarks raised doubts that the agreement would be renewed.

We will remind you that earlier President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Russia is preparing the ground to try to disrupt the grain initiative.
