The negotiations took place "against the background of unprecedented pressure and blackmail from the Kremlin", in particular, Russia's holding of pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine with the aim of their annexation, the press service of the President of Ukraine reported.

Speaking with Guterres, Zelensky expressed his gratitude "for the unwavering commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within the internationally recognized borders."

"This is evidenced by the clear position of the UN regarding the non-recognition of the pseudo-referendums held in the occupied territories of Ukraine, as a gross violation of the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, expressed on behalf of the UN Secretary," the message reads.

In conversations with the leaders of Great Britain, Germany, Canada and Turkey, the "illegal holding of pseudo-referendums" in the occupied territories of Ukraine and the world's reaction to it were also discussed.

"Russia's recognition of these pseudo-referendums, the implementation of the so-called Crimean scenario and another attempt to annex Ukrainian territory will mean that there is nothing to talk about with this Russian president," Zelensky said during the conversation with Sholtz.

He added that the Ukrainian side is counting on strengthening EU sanctions and as soon as possible, synchronized with the illegal decisions of the Russian Federation, the approval of the eighth package of sanctions, which "should be much more powerful."

"The fictitious referendums that Putin held in the illegally occupied territories of Ukraine are worthless.

They are illegal under international law.

Germany will never accept false results.

I assured President Zelensky of this in today's phone conversation," the German Chancellor tweeted.

In a conversation with Tras, Zelensky emphasized that these pseudo-referendums held by Russia "are worthless and do not change reality.

The territorial integrity of Ukraine will be restored."

In a conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada, the President of Ukraine emphasized that Ukraine expects the "maximum harsh reaction" from its international partners to Russia's recognition of the results of the pseudo-referendum.

"President Erdoğan emphasized that the holding of unilateral referendums in the regions of Ukraine under Russian control will undermine efforts aimed at revitalizing the diplomatic process, adding that Turkey is ready to provide full support for the settlement of the war through peace negotiations," the report said.

The Turkish President's Office reported on the results of the conversation between the two leaders.

Trudeau said on Twitter that Canada will never recognize Russian pseudo-referendums and will continue to provide military, humanitarian and financial assistance to the people of Ukraine.

"Our support remains unwavering," he emphasized.

The UN press service did not report on the conversation between Guterres and Zelensky.
