Typhoon Noru weakened to a tropical storm today, passing over central Vietnam.

The storm caused power outages and toppled roofs and billboards, the Associated Press reported.

A landslide has occurred in the coastal city of Da Nang, but no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

Although Noru's strength has weakened, the rains it caused caused flooding and winds damaged some homes and uprooted trees.

In neighboring Thailand, authorities are bracing for more flooding as Noru heads north, northeast and central areas still recovering from seasonal monsoon rains.

According to data from the Japanese Meteorological Agency, the speed of the accompanying winds reached 85 kilometers per hour.
