The Iranian Shahed 136 kamikaze drones, which the occupiers began to use, are quite serious weapons.

Ukrainian air defense forces will be forced to spend their not too large stockpile of missiles to deal with them.

Military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Petro Chernyk

said this  on the TSN YouTube channel.

"Actually, the weapon is quite serious, the

Shahed 136 is a kamikaze drone, which has a rather heavy warhead of 40 kg

. Let me remind you that the 152-mm projectile also weighs about the same. This is really a weapon that can inflict even at this minute, on unfortunately, causes us some damage. However, in my opinion,

it will not change the course of this war in any way

. I have no doubt that literally in a week or two, our air defense forces will work out high-quality algorithms for intercepting them," Chernyk said.

As the military expert noted, the only rather painful moment is "

we will have to spend on them, which is not quite a large stock of our missiles

."

"Our missiles, which are designed to shoot down large air targets, will be forced to retarget small ones," he explained.

At the same time, the expert is convinced that the supply of modern air defense systems of the NASAMS class will allow Ukraine to

increase the protection of its skies to the level of 90%

.

"Sooner or later, this threat will be eliminated. But for some time

we will have to be very careful about this "buzzing moped" in the air

," he emphasized.

When asked how many of these drones were purchased in Iran, Chernyk answered:

"It is impossible to say. Such arms deals are of an exclusively secret nature. But

I think that there may be several hundred units in them

. I don't think that it goes to thousands."

It is worth noting that the Russian army attacked Odesa again on the night of September 27

with three kamikaze drones.

On September 26, Russia also attacked Odesa region with kamikaze drones.

One drone was destroyed by air defense forces.

Two - hit the object of military infrastructure.

Russia also attacked Mykolaiv with three Iranian drones, they were shot down.

Military expert Petro Chernyk told why the occupiers are taking revenge on Odesa with drone attacks.
