The parties discussed the successful exchange of prisoners of war, the situation around the Zaporizhzhya NPP, as well as Russia's holding of pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

The press service of the Turkish president reported this online.

"The conversation concerned the latest events of the Russian-Ukrainian war. President Erdoğan noted that he is very glad that the exchange of prisoners of war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place successfully after long preparations," the statement said.

It is also reported that Erdogan paid attention to the successful functioning of the agreement on sending Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

The President of Turkey emphasized that "a similar approach can be applied

to the Zaporizhzhya NPP

."

He also repeated Turkey's offer to mediate in the formation of a demilitarized zone around the power plant.

"The president emphasized that the holding of unilateral

referendums in the regions of Ukraine

under Russian control will undermine efforts aimed at revitalizing the diplomatic process, adding that Turkey is ready to provide comprehensive support for the settlement of the war through peaceful negotiations," Erdogan's press service said in a statement.

It will be recalled that on September 27, Zelenskyi commented on the "referendums" of the occupiers and stated that any criminal actions of Russia will not change anything for Ukraine.
