Several North Indian women joined their Telangana counterparts to dance to the tune of Bathukamma songs

Telangana government is distributing sarees to women on the occasion of Bathukamma festival, as per the instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR).

'Bathukamma' was celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.

People living in New Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) and neighboring Ghaziabad attended the festival in large numbers at Telangana Bhavan.

Chief Minister KCR has made significant efforts to promote and popularize Bathukamma as a national festival. The Tourism Department of the Government of Te Langana has been successful in generating interest among the people.

On the instructions of Chief Minister KCR, the government is distributing sarees of colorful designs to women in the state on the occasion of Bathukamma festival after the formation of separate Telangana.

Like the state, today in Bathukamma organized at Telangana Bhavan, gold and silver zari saris were distributed to all the women participants. 

Women gathered and danced from early morning to prepare 'Bathukamma' to prepare flowers paying homage to the deities.

Essential flowers, such as 'Gunugu, Thangedu, Chamanti, Bunty, Gummad, and Gaddi', were procured from Delhi and its surroundings including the ridge area with the special permission of the Delhi government.

Telangana Bhavan reverberated to the tunes of 'Bathukamma', while women dressed in silk and fine cloth and children in their lehengas presented the quintessence of Telangana culture to Delhiites.

Telangana students from various institutions in and around the National Capital Region (NCR) reached the venue to participate in the festivities.

A large number of people from Delhi and North India also showed interest in it.

The Telangana government hosted a dinner 'Telangana Ruchilu' consisting of exclusive Telangana cuisine for the guests.

Telangana Tourism and Culture Minister V Srinivasa Goud attended the program organized at Telangana Bhavan as the chief guest.

Special Representatives of Telangana Government in New Delhi, Mandha Jagannadham, KM Sawhney, Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan Dr Gaurav Uppal and MD Manohar, Telangana Tourism Corporation were present at the event along with other officials.
