West Bengal's TET exam in December, Education Minister announced

Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) of West Bengal will be conducted in the month of December.
State Education Minister Bratya Basu on Monday said that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for the recruitment of school teachers in the state will be conducted on December 11.
Through this recruitment examination, teachers will be recruited on 11 thousand vacant posts in the state.
At the same time, the written examination for TET exam will be conducted in the second week of December.
He said that the date of TET exam will be announced after Durga Puja.
Bengal Education Minister said that we will announce the schedule of TET exam after the meeting between me and the officials of the primary education board to be held before the third week of October.

The West Bengal government was reprimanded by the High Court for irregularities in the recruitment of primary school teachers.
About 200 candidates successful in the TET exam of the year 2014 and 2016 have not been able to get jobs till now.
These candidates have been staging a sit-in in front of the Gandhi statue in Esplanade area of the city for more than 520 days demanding jobs.

Basu and Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee had met representatives of TET candidates in August and promised that the state government would do whatever is necessary to remove discrepancies in the recruitment process.
