The Ministry of Health has announced new measures to prevent the entry and spread of the Ebola virus.

There have been reports of the presence of ebola disease in the neighboring country of Uganda and on September 19, this year, it was reported that one person died from the disease.

After the death, on September 22, this year, Uganda reported the presence of six confirmed Ebola patients, increasing the number of infections to seven.

Despite the Ministry of Health in this country announcing that no case has been registered in the country, the government has called on citizens to consider measures to prevent infection.

The Minister of Health, Daniel Ngamije, said the Government is working closely with their Ugandan counterparts.

"We are collaborating closely with other institutions to monitor the spread of the disease in neighboring countries, especially Uganda, where a case of Ebola was confirmed in Mubende District.

All the ministries of health in Rwanda and Uganda are working together to strengthen prevention measures at land borders, the airport and inside as well," said

Ebola is transmitted through the body fluids of an infected person.

Symptoms of Ebola include fever, joint pain, headache, sore throat, fatigue, diarrhea, vomiting, skin rash, red eyes, stomach pain and bleeding in various parts of the body.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes: "Avoid contact with blood and bodily fluids, things that may have come in contact with the blood or fluids of an infected person, avoid touching the body of an Ebola victim or a dead wild animal or eating its meat.

Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean water and seek medical attention if you feel unwell.”
