Bringing the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia together was important for the United States.

APA reports that Ned Price, the spokesman of the US State Department, said this in his press conference in response to a question about the joint meeting of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia last week.

He noted that the Secretary of State had a conversation with the leaders of both countries, but this meeting was the first face-to-face meeting of both foreign ministers after the clashes.

Ned Price added that during the meeting, Anthony Blinken emphasized the importance of preserving the ceasefire to the parties and emphasized the commitment of the United States to a lasting ceasefire and a peaceful solution: "We have clearly stated to both foreign ministers that the United States is committed to bilateral, multilateral, partners is ready to give its support by bringing together.

This includes supporting the efforts of the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, to bring together the leaders of both countries."

Ned Price said that the Foreign Ministers discussed the best way forward during the meeting, and the Secretary of State suggested that the parties share their views on how to meaningfully advance the peace process before the end of this month: "We want to resolve all outstanding issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan through peaceful negotiations." We call for a solution.

"The use of force is an unacceptable way."

According to Ned Price, the United States will continue to participate in the process to achieve lasting peace.
