According to the representative of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Boyan Magdalinchev, the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the mandate of the Inspectorate of the SJC should be applicable to the SJC itself.

Through it, he gives priority to the continuity of the body's work, commented Magdalinchev for BTA.

He was asked for a comment on the fact that the mandate of the SJC expires on October 3, and there is still no elected parliamentary quota for the next composition of the council.

Magdalinchev pointed out that he can give a clearer opinion after the full reasons for today's SC decision are published.

He reminded that there is also a problem with the selection of the judge quota, because the decision on this selection has been appealed in court.

Earlier today, the SC decided that it is permissible for the Inspectorate of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJSC) to continue working, despite the expired mandate of the chief inspector and the inspectors, and despite the fact that no new ones have been elected by the National Assembly.

The decision was taken by seven to three votes, and the CC currently has an incomplete composition, because before its dissolution the National Assembly did not elect new members.
