Egyptian authorities have identified a second case of monkeypox.

The virus was detected in a citizen of another Arab country who arrived from abroad, Al-Ahram reported, citing the Ministry of Health and Population.

The department does not specify his nationality, writes BTA.

The patient, who is male, was hospitalized in isolation and is in stable condition.

All precautions have been taken regarding the people he has been in contact with.

Egypt announced the first case of monkeypox in early September.

The infected person is a 42-year-old Egyptian who arrived from Spain.

Health Minister Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said his condition was stable and without severe symptoms.

Those who came in contact with him were put under 21-day observation, and none of them showed symptoms of the disease.

Several Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Lebanon, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, have identified cases of monkeypox.
