Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is set to address both houses of the Russian parliament on Friday, September 30.

The Russian leader is likely to announce the annexation of the captured territories of Ukraine.

However, the defeats of the Russian army at the front and the announced mobilization reduce patriotic support for the war in the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain in its daily report.

"There is a real possibility that Putin is using his address to officially announce the annexation of the occupied regions of Ukraine to the Russian Federation," British intelligence said in a statement.

The British Ministry of Defense reminds that the so-called "referendums" currently being held in these territories should end on September 27.

At the same time, Russian leaders hope that any announcement of accession will be perceived as a justification for a "special military operation" and will strengthen patriotic support for the conflict.

"This aspiration is likely to be undermined by growing domestic awareness of Russia's recent failures on the battlefield and significant concern over the partial mobilization announced last week," it said.

It will be recalled that earlier in the British intelligence it was reported that the Russian authorities can use the mobilization to strengthen the units of the Russian Guard with additional forces.
