The victims of the school shooting in the Russian city of Izhevsk are now 17 - 11 children and six adults.

The information was confirmed by the authorities of Udmurtia, in whose capital the attack took place.

24 people were injured in the attack, including 22 children.

After the shooting at the 88th school, the attacker Artyom Kazantsev, who graduated from the same school, committed suicide.

The motives for his actions are still being clarified.

The ministers of health and education arrived in Izhevsk, which is located about 1000 km from Moscow.

The two commended the medical teams and school authorities for their actions during the tragic incident.

According to Russian media, in the minutes after the shooting, 26 emergency medical teams worked at the school.

A three-day mourning period has been announced in Udmurtia.
