The British public broadcaster BBC and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) continue to choose a venue for

Eurovision 2023

.

At first, seven cities applied

for the right to host the show

, but now the number of "participants" has decreased to two.

So now the organizer of the competition will be chosen between Glasgow and Liverpool, the BBC reports.

"Thank you to all seven UK cities for showing the enthusiasm and passion for Eurovision that is unique to the whole of the UK. We were incredibly impressed by the quality and creativity of all cities' submissions in this highly competitive field," said Phil Harrold, Chair of the BBC's Host Cities Selection Committee.

Now a special commission is conducting negotiations with representatives of both cities in order to choose the best candidate.

The committee should make an official statement about its final decision in a few weeks.

We will remind you that earlier the EBU refused to hold a competition in Ukraine, because "not all conditions can be fulfilled".

In turn, the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko stated that Ukraine does not agree with such a decision and demanded additional negotiations.

Unfortunately, after long arguments, the organizers have not changed their decision.

As a result, the European Broadcasting Union, Suspilne and the BBC agreed to hold the contest in Great Britain,

but on behalf of Ukraine
