The Russians occupied Kupyansk as early as February 27.

The mayor of the city went over to the side of Russia, in the conditions of martial law, he assisted representatives of the Russian army in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine.

Earlier, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, reported that Kupyansk is an important logistical hub for the occupiers.
